Weekly Scribblings #19: Lie to Me

Hello Word Artists and Admirers! Earlier this week I was put into a position where I needed to tell a little white lie. People I knew were feeling very sentimental about a topic, and although I didn’t feel the same way (in fact, quite the opposite) I still made sure to make polite comments on the topic.

For this week’s prompt, I’d like you to focus your words around lies or the idea of a lie, whether they’re little ones as I described above or great big whoppers. It’s no lie that I’m taking both poetry and prose, fiction and non-fiction, but as always please keep it to one submission per person and if you chose prose 369 words or fewer.

  1. Just before I took the photos this morning, I had another fall on the gravel. I was worried that I had broken the camera, but it took a photo of the gravel from ground level! Now I have a sprained ankle, a painful hip, and a bad case of embarrassment, as I was still in my pyjamas!

    2. Oh no! Goodness, the lengths we will go to for our art. I hope the bumps, bruises, and assorted pains don't linger.

  2. Thanks, Rommy. Interesting prompt. Please don't take my poem as critical of you, LOL! (And thanks for Fleetwood Mac, too.)
