Hello word artists and admirers! If things had gone the way I had planned they would, I'd be on vacation with my husband, probably enjoying a foodie adventure or two in honor of our 25th anniversary. But of course Covid-19 happened so we had to switch our expectations around a little.
Fortunately my husband's DYI foodie adventure game is on point (he's kind of a magician when it comes to playing around with food) and even though we can't enjoy travelling together, we're enjoying staying at home, taking walks and playing video games with each other. Although my plans have changed, I'm glad I still get to spend my time with him. How have you adapted to changes in plans?

- Rosemary treats us to words we might have missed from our fellow writers in her latest Wild Fridays post.
- For our next Weekly Scribblings, Magaly invites everyone to write new poetry or prose using anagrams—a word, phrase, or sentence formed from another by rearranging its letters. For example, “skin” is an anagram of “inks”. You can find more examples HERE and HERE.
It's so nice to be able to link at midnight and not wait till morning and be #25 or so!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you find that helpful.
DeleteThanks, Rommy! Glad you are enjoying your anniversary, even if not away from home. Congrats to you both on the occasion!
ReplyDeleteI have become quite addicted to 369-word prose pieces (and like to make them exactly that number of words, even though it isn't required). I have a little piece of autobiography for you this week, probably sparked by the fact that our days and nights are getting distinctly colder here.
I usually aim to get them to that exact amount too. But often it's a case of pruning things back, rather than adding, with me. :D
DeleteHa ha, that's the main reason why I try for the exact number – because it's ALWAYS a case of pruning back for me. I'm only too glad to get something down as far as 369, then I can stop.
DeleteHAPPY ANNIVERSARY ROMMY!!!
ReplyDeleteTwenty-five is a special BIG Number one, I am very happy for you guys.
A hint for few, let your word processor do the counting for you. Ah, you all do that already. I am spoiled and now that my computer is broken, since last fall, I would have to do it the hard way.
Thank you, Rommy, for hosting again.
'Nuff, I'll go read.
..
Thanks Jim! LOL, I do appreciate the word count feature on Word. It keeps me honest.
DeleteHey everybody, I am having a problem trying to comment on WordPress accounts. WP keeps asking me to log in again, and when I do refuses to accept my password. When I change it, and am notified that it has been changed successfully, it won't accept the new one either. This has happened repeatedly in the last hour or so!
ReplyDeleteEek! I hope that you can figure out what the deal is with that. So frustrating!
DeleteWhew! I rebooted, then went to bed and left it. Today everything is working as it should and I'm going back to make the comments that didn't work before.
DeleteCongrats on your anniversary! I am also sqeeing over the KP video. :) Thanks for hosting while celebrating.
ReplyDeleteIt's such a cute AMV! It always puts a smile on my face.
Delete25 is a big number, Congrats, Rommy!
ReplyDeleteStill sitting out the lockdown here but the good thing is the forced spring cleaning unearthed some old journals of early poetry i have written. going to have a long time going through them. Mostly are bad, but there are still good ones. Also, yeah, doing a lot of cooking at home. 😁
We've done a fair bit of spring cleaning too, though it's tricky with a teenager and young adult at home too. :D
DeleteHappy Sunday everyone
ReplyDeletemuch love...
Hope your Sunday is going well Gillena
DeleteCongratulations Rommy! I know all about change of plans. My husband and I were going to spend the year traveling for our 50th wedding anniversary in August. Not going to complain...our family is safe and well.
ReplyDelete50! That's awesome. Sorry your plans had to change a bit too. I'm also glad that my family is safe and sound too.
DeleteHappiest anniversary, Rommy! I hope you and your foodier one celebrate for weeks and weeks and more.
ReplyDeleteAnd when it comes to plans, this year seems to just laugh at the thought.
Happy readings, everyone!
Yeah since 2020 seems determined to prank the hell out of us, it's best to hold very loosely to anything resembling a plan.
DeleteWent all the way back to 2012 ... going thru old posts, had forgotten I tried to sing my poem. Be kind.
ReplyDeleteNo need to be kind. Astounded and delighted is more like it!
DeleteHelen, that was so cool! Thank you for sharing.
DeleteHappy Anniversary, Rommy. You have something to remember this year for the rest of your lives.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I keep going in the wrong direction for what I'd want to share here. If the words on the wind land later this week, I'll add but for now, I'll peruse other's works. I took a break this afternoon and visited through to Helen's contribution but my phone is terrible to comment from.
Keep safe. Cheers!
We'll be here when you are ready. :)
DeleteHeart-throbbing, with ripples extending a lifetime! For what it's worth, I, too, cherish embraces--but I prefer sleeping in the cool! ;)
ReplyDeletehappy anniversary~
