Writers' Pantry #18: Indulgences

Hello Word Artists and Admirers! May normally feels like a month of indulgences to me--indulging in the now steadily warmer weather, indulging in the heady scent of flowers, and indulging in various family celebrations. Things being what they are, I'll have to forgo some of my usual indulgences. But I'm finding new things to pamper myself, and of course getting reacquainted with old (sometimes guilty) pleasures.

I sometimes enjoy big, over-the-top, rock-opera sounding music. So there.

So before we indulge in the written word, let's take care of Announcements and Reminders:

• Rosemary revisits the stunning words of Mary Oliver in her Wild Fridays post, The Living Dead.

• For our upcoming Weekly Scribblings, Magaly invites us to write new poetry or prose inspired by Pandemic Street Art from around the world. We can find our own street art (and provide the image or a link to it with our entries) or we can use images one, two, or three as inspiration.

With that, the floor is yours. Please indulge us with your word offerings, poetry or prose, fiction or non fiction. As always, keep your prose pieces to 369 words or fewer and only one submission per person.

    1. I've been watching quite a bit more anime since my husband got me a subscription to Crunchy Roll. LOL, it is an indulgence since the subscription means no commercials and we get to watch the latest stuff almost as soon as it airs.

  5. I hope everyone's Sunday went well. We were able to plant corn this weekend and set up several new flower beds (because we could all use a little more color in our lives.) Cheers!

    1. If I didn't so love living where I do, I think I might want to come and live where you do. Over the months, you have made it sound so delightful.

    2. Thank you for those very kind words, Rosemary. The farm is still primitive - no running water, electricity, privy, etc. This means we can escape from the world once in a while.
As I've said, the farm is open to any and all friends for a visit and I'll continue to share as often as I can.

    3. Sounds like you had a very productive Sunday. I hope all the new seeds grow up big, healthy, and strong.
