Greetings, poets and storytellers. I hope this
week is being good to you. I’ve been a tad sickly, but things will
get better (they
always do, don’t they?). Speaking of better things… the other day, a
friend sent me a copy of Craig Santos
Perez’s “Ars Pasifika”:
when the tideof silencerisessay “ocean”then with the paddleof your tonguerearrangethe letters to form“canoe”
I enjoyed the clever use of anagrams.
So, for today’s prompt, I invite you to write new poetry or prose using
anagrams—a word, phrase, or sentence formed from another by rearranging its
letters. Looking for inspiring pairs, trios…? Visit the following
links:
By the way, am I the only one who read Lolita about a gazillion
times without ever noticing that Vivian Darkbloom is an anagram for Vladimir
Nabokov? 🙄
Add the direct link to your poetry or prose to Mr. Linky. One entry per
participant. If you choose prose, please keep the count to 369 words or fewer. This
prompt shall remain open for a week, so we have all sorts of time to delight on each other’s words.

No, you're not the only one. I didn't pick up on Vivian Darkbloom either.
ReplyDeleteI had great fun with the anagrams! Thank you.
I am so glad you had fun. I did, too, even if my contribution ended up being less fun than I would've liked. Still, I think it's a balanced contribution of doom and hope... with a grin in it.
DeleteIt's such a brilliantly descriptive anagram for Nabokov, too. I went to site to play with anagrams of my name and the most "pleasant" versions I could find were rogue and morgue, lol!
Hope you're feeling much better now, Magaly. I got hung up on ravens this week. :)
ReplyDeleteMe, too, keep. Maybe if we both hope really, really, really hard *hehehe*. Oooh! I like ravens.
DeleteThis sounds like fun! I'm looking forward to trying it.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a blast with it, Jenna!
DeleteFeel better soon, dear Magaly!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Helen! The wish alone makes me feel a bit better. Smiles have that effect on us. :-)
DeleteI've been incognito for almost two months and I have missed everyone. What a blessing to come back and read everyone's poems.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Margaret!
