Our next prompt will be posted on Friday, November 5th; and then, every Friday after that, a new one. Or you’ll be free to share something unprompted instead, as you choose.
So, dear wordsmiths, this is our final Writers’ Pantry. The origins of that name are lost in the mists of time, but it has certainly always been a feast!
We’re continuing that foody theme as we transition –
For our first Friday prompt, Magaly would like us to write poetry or prose about food: cooking it, eating it, sharing it, craving it, dreaming of it … the choice is yours.
Reminder: It will be an optional prompt. You may use it or ignore it, as you wish.
Today you can share anything you’d like to: old or new, verse or prose, something for us to get our teeth into, or which will leave a lingering sweetness.... Prose needs to be a maximum of 369 words, please.
Leave us your links below, share your thoughts in the comments if you will, enjoy each other’s offerings, and if possible please mention us at your blog.
Have fun!
I'm not sure I understand the new changes. Is it correct that we can post an unprompted poem on Fridays or does it have to be about food on November the 5th?
ReplyDeleteIt can be either, Colleen. There will be a food prompt which you may use, but you also have the choice to ignore that and share a piece of writing about anything else you like. An optional prompt, you see.
DeleteThanks for the question! I'll just go back and edit the post to make the position clearer.
DeleteCheerio and Goodbye to the Pantry... Have fun at Halloween everyone !
ReplyDeleteNot much Halloween happening here – wet night, very few kids in the neighborhood, pandemic restrictions.... And of course, strictly speaking, it's the wrong season for it in Australia. But hopefully people in other parts of the world are having fun with it.
Delete@Rall, I hope your Halloween is awesome!
DeleteWishing you all a restful Sunday!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Khaya, same to you!
DeleteThe weather changes at PSU ... A happy and creative Sunday to all
ReplyDeletemuch❤love
Just as the seasons change! I hope that's a good omen. A happy and creative Sunday to you too!
DeleteGood day, Poets & Storytellers!
ReplyDeleteChange is good. Combining two into one would streamline the work of the administrators. Also, there's the freedom of options. My attempts on prompts have a bad habit of wandering off. 😁
I'm just glad I'm not the only one who often goes on creative tangents.
DeleteMy entry seems fitting with a few metaphors thrown in and I hope you like it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining in! I hope you plan to make a habit of it. (I'll be over in a little while to see what you're sharing today.)
DeleteMy story matched "Ends and Beginnings" and I will try my best to make this a habit.
DeleteThank you very much, Rosemary.
And quite a story it was! Edge of the seat stuff. All your readers will be relieved you plan to continue.
DeleteWill the Friday have a name? Happy Halloween to those who celebrate it. I'm ignoring it. Too much COVID in my county (not for lack resources, lack of common sense), so I don't want to be part of encouraging children to go to stranger's doors.
ReplyDeleteWe considered given it a name, but since there will be only one post we thought that individual titles for individual posts should suffice. What do you think?
DeleteAnd I'm right with you about children trick-or-treating. I don't think it's safe yet.
No sign of Halloween here last night! Both the wet weather and the COVID restrictions were against it, I imagine. It's a fairly recent thing in Australia anyway.
DeleteUpon reflection, we've decided to give our new Friday posts a name after all, to make life easier in various ways for us and you. They will be Friday Writings.
DeleteThank you! My inaugural Friday Writings is underway.
DeleteGreat, Lisa!
DeleteThank you for the reminders and the preview, Rosemary. I am very late today, because we celebrated Halloween a day early. And the festivities left me so exhausted that I didn't wake up until 11am! But I'm here now, I didn't want to miss posting for the last Pantry.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't be the same without you! And thanks for holding the fort while I was sleeping, here DownUnder.
DeleteRight back at you, my Rosemary love!
DeleteHappy Sunday! I shall enjoy this feast of words. :)
ReplyDeleteSame to you, Jenna!
DeleteIt didn't fit for the write I reposted today but I found a 'witches car' parked near mine at Walmart. She had stickers all over her car. I wish noww that I'd stayed to meet her. Halloween will come again, I have started with the picture already.
ReplyDeleteSee your "food" inspiration Friday.
Thanks for hosting, you are a mentor-like lady for me.
..
I always enjoy your posts and your background stories, Jim.
DeleteI am having trouble posting on this site, due to the disappearance of Mr. Linky.
ReplyDeleteFor now, my poem is on my blog. https://purplepeninportland.com,
"Around The Corner".
Happy Sunday all!
Thank you so very much for all your help here~
