Weekly Scribblings #22: It Takes a Bit of Discipline

Hello Word Artists and Admirers! Recently, I’ve found myself in the position where I need to be a little more disciplined with my food to address some health issues. Nothing overly serious, but it’s best that I make some temporary changes before I have to make permanent ones. I’m happy I get to indulge a bit more in rice, but anything too caffeinated is out. Yes, that includes tea (some small experiments with caffeine seem promising, but I’m going to wait before I drink thick ceremonial grade tea again).

So for this week’s prompt, I’d like us to shape our words around the idea of discipline—when it’s helpful, when it’s harmful or any take you have on the idea of discipline. One new prose or poetry piece per person is welcome, fiction or non-fiction. But if you opt for prose please keep it to 369 words or fewer.

  4. Thanks for the challenge Rommy. I don't know if it is is patience, discipline, or chewing on hell that keeps me from exploding about something that days before the pandemic, but I do know now is not my time to unleash the storm within me.

    1. I'm sure you aren't the only person with a category 4 storm burbling away inside at the moment.
