Friday Writings #112: Silver Lining

Greetings, word lovers. How are things in your bit of the world? Are they as gloomy and desperate and frustrating (with wild hints of awesome) as in my own bit of our planet? I hope so. Because living a life that offers us no joy ((even tiny ones) just won’t do, not when we have words, relationships, imagination, and defiance to throw in misery’s face.

So, with that thought in mind, for today’s optional prompt, I invite you to write poetry or prose that includes a silver lining, or an advantage that comes from a difficult or unpleasant situation.

Required: Add the direct link to your response to Mister Linky. One post per participant, please, 369 words maximum (excluding title), for prose and for poetry.

Optional: You may share old or new pieces of poetry or prose, and you may write to the prompt or to a topic of your choosing.

Requested (not compulsory but strongly recommended): Visit other poets and storytellers. Read their contributions. Share your thoughts on their words.

for next week, Rommy will invite us to write poetry or prose about our favorite modern convenience or invention.
