Greetings, dear poets
and storytellers. I hope the Autumnal
Equinox (or Vernal, if you are in the Southern Hemisphere) found
you well. Autumn and spring—the first with its cooler weather and the second
with the promise of rebirth—always put me in a good mood. I don’t know about
you, but I’ve had all the summer (and
rotten moods) I can handle for a year.
Today, I’ve selected three of my stitched blackout poem bits
to offer as inspiration. I invite you to write poetry or prose which includes at
least 1 of the following three. Of course, you are more than welcomed to choose
2 or all 3:
Happy and strange words are my home.
Reason is music to a jaded heart.
As always, this prompt shall remain open for a week. We welcome fiction and nonfiction, short and long(ish) pieces—if you go for prose, let the word count be 369 words or fewer. Please, add the direct link to your contribution. And after your share your words, do take a moment to visit other poets and storytellers... and share your thought-filled comments on their words. Significantly rewritten pieces are also welcomed.
These are beautiful Magaly. Thank you for such a lovely prompt.
ReplyDeleteYou're are most welcome, Cressida.
DeleteHappy Equinox, everybody! I longed to use all of these. However, in the context of what I ended up writing, one of them just became part of it, organically.
ReplyDeleteI love it when irony becomes and ally! Can't wait to see what you came up with.
DeleteAlso, I hope you enjoyed your Full Moon and Vernal Equinox celebrations, even with the lockdown.
DeleteThanks, I'm not unused to celebrating solitary, but it was disappointing not to be able to gather with others.
DeleteMy celebrations have included only my Piano Man and I for quite some time. I, too, miss the energy of a full circle. Sigh.
DeleteThanks for your words and images, prompting us today Magaly

You're welcome, Gillena.
DeleteMy heart sang .... viewing the images today! Thank you dear Magaly.
ReplyDeleteYay, for a singing heart!
DeleteThese are, indeed, beautiful works, Magaly and provide a marvelous prompt. I apologize for not including any of your lines. I have no excuse other than, um, attentional insufficiency. I got so wrapped up in composition that I completely overlooked the instruction to include your marvelous composition. I'm blaming it on Equinoxial Amnesia.
ReplyDeleteNo apologies needed, Ron., goodness knows that has happened to me too (and more than once).
DeleteEquinoxial Amnesia made me giggle!
Woe! Wail! Has McDonald's been blocked from *seeing* the linky, or have I?
ReplyDeleteMcDonald's? I am really confused.
DeletePublic computer centers aren't open yet. Only connections in town are restaurants. McDonald's is Not A Secure Connection. Anyway I've not seen any link lists all summer. Pages usually do open, but no links to other people's poems.
