Weekly Scribblings #50: Down In My Bones

Hello, Word Artists and Admirers! For this, the last prompt I will host in 2020 (good riddance), I’d like us all to think about how we might finish this sentence, “Down in my bones, I feel _____________”. If you’d rather tackle this from a different angle, you also have the option to write about bones in general. It also isn't necessary to use the exact phrasing.

I am taking poetry or prose, fiction or non-fiction. Just make sure your word creations are new, one entry per person, and please keep your prose offerings to 369 words or fewer.

  2. Awoke to 3 inches of white stuff this morning, but don't think we're to get much more. Northeast seems to be getting the brunt of it. Son & wife are in North Carolina, due home tomorrow. I hope they don't run into icy roads. BTW, I like the "down in my bones" prompt!!

    1. I'm in the Northeast and bracing for impact. We have plenty of firewood just in case we loose power and we have plenty of food.

  5. The gingko leaf is a symbol of spiritual and healing powers, I believe. Well placed on your journal!

    1. I've always loved the brightness of the ginkgo leaves in autumn. They look like they have swallowed sunlight, and keeping them in books and notebooks makes me feel like I'm holding on to some of the bright. The idea of those lovely leaves being symbols of spiritual and healing powers make perfect sense (and probably will make me collect more, lol).
