Friday Writings #89: You Laughed, You Cried, Now You Write

Greetings, poets and storytellers. How are things with you today? Have you laughed lately? Perhaps, you’ve cried a bit? I know, I know… that
’s rather personal. But personal tends to be extra inspiring, which might explain why today’s optional prompt invites you to write about the last time you had a good laugh or cry.

If thoughts of laughter or crying don’t get your muse in the mood, feel free to be inspired by someone else’s mirth or tears. Or, go ahead and share any piece that feels right. Your contribution can be new or old, short or longish (369 words or fewer), fiction or nonfiction. Share the direct link to your post, please. One link per participant. Visit other writers, and let them know what their words do for you—especially if they make you laugh… or cry.

for next week, our dearest Rosemary will invite us to write about food and/or eating.

  4. Sorry, dear poets and storytellers, I am missing in action again this week — between the last of the proofreading and welcoming an old friend I haven't seen in person for some years to stay with me for a few days. Back next week, to play host to you all.

    2. Dear Rosemary, or are you celebrating with the Matildas as they beat the French team on penalty kicks? :)
      Best wishes on your books.

    3. You bet I've been watching them! Usually after the event, still have to catch up with the match against France, but even so very exciting.

    4. Yes, it was an exciting match, and the penalty contest was dramatic and heart-stopping. Well, the semis are up against the old enemy England, that will be another cracker.

    5. OMG yes!!! Visitor and I finally saw it. Knew already that Matildas won but not much more. It was still heart-stopping, over and over.

Glad to be back after some weeks.

Will be back to read later. Going for an early morning walk/run.

  6. Good day, dsnake1 and other Poets & Storytellers! I thought of something at last. It's verse. It's long, it's snarky, and it's the kind of Bad Poetry I suppose really *is* bad. Since it came out over 1000 words, I'll spare our hosts the trouble of removing it from the link-up. It's on my Blogspot for those who want to read.
