Welcome to the second Writers’ Pantry of the year, dear
poets and storytellers. I hope you are doing as well as it is possible. I know
the world seems to be in constant turmoil these days, but like our Rosemary (and Thich Nhat Hanh) have
been so kind to remind us in “Wild Fridays #1: I Wish I’d Written This”, even storms
and stones can be used to build a “corner of warm space”.
Speaking of storms, we are still having technical difficulties. Not one member of the Poets and Storytellers United
staff can share links from this blog or from Poets United on Facebook. Whenever
we try, we get this message: “Your post couldn’t be shared, because this link
goes against our Community Standards.” We’ve been reporting the problem for two
weeks now, and nothing has happened yet. So, we’ve decided to unpublish our
Facebook page, in order to address the issue privately.
What else? Oh, yes… the topic for Rommy’s upcoming Weekly
Scribblings (on Wednesday)
is Myth-Placed.
She wants our muses to dance “around the idea of a mythological time or place.” I am quite excited about this one.
Don’t run yet! We have a request. If you have a moment,
would you please look around Poets United and let us know what you can
see/access? i.e. Can you see the latest reminder and access the links on the
post? Can you see and access the Prompts and Features Archive? Can you see and
access the Search box and the Blog Archive? These things are working for us,
but we want to make sure that they are working for you too. All right, enough
housekeeping (for today *sigh*).
Now, I invite you to add the direct link to a poem or story
or article (new or old or in-between).
Prose contributions should be 369 words or fewer. Visit other poets and
storytellers… And have fun with words.
I can’t say that NYC trains
are the nicest of places, but the sight of this heart always brews a warm smile
out of me. Hope it works for you, too.
Hi. I was on a long break and just saw the change in website..
ReplyDeleteHope everything is well. and yes i can see all the features you have mentioned
Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed the break. Thank you so much for checking.
DeleteI am sharing the second in an Illustrated American Sentence series I will be working on this year.
ReplyDeleteI am able to access all the elements you have highlighted in your article. i think Facebook hates Google-driven Blogger because it doesn't own it... yet.
I think you are quite correct, Kerry. Facebook and Google just refuse to play well.
DeleteHi Magaly and united poets and storytellers. I am able to access all the elements. I'm not sure what to share yet - it's only just turned eight this Sunday morning, so I have time to write something new.
ReplyDeleteThank you for checking, Kim. And yay! for new words.
DeleteMany thanks, Magaly, for hosting the Pantry. I also found some American Sentences to share today. And thanks for your gradual and careful upgrading of the old Poets United site to keep it viable and, hopefully, glitchless.
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome, Rosemary. Hm... you and Kerry have put me in the mood for an American Sentence. I think I will write one or three (after reading today's contributions).
DeleteAnd I'm keeping my fingers crossed about glitchlessness. I so wish Google and Facebook played better together. Sigh.
Cheers for hosting Magaly and hope all have a wonderful Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI too am able to access all the highlighted elements at PU
Anna :o]
Thank you for checking, Anna. And I second your hopes for this day!
DeleteI can access/see those features on Poet's United. Although they are now all located at the bottom of the page rather than on a sidebar. I am also still able to see all posts from the old and new site in my reading list. I was able to follow by email here as well, although the captcha gave an error message before I was able to subscribe.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the detail report, Lori! I shall troubleshoot FeedBurner to see if the captcha error message you got is an isolated incident, or something that is happening to everyone.
DeleteAnd I think that when we are done with the immediate issues on PU, we'll move the sidebar to the right side.
Good Morning all! Well, I seem to be able to access the old site information with no issues. Odd thing yesterday- I did not realize there was an end date to Sanaa's post. But when I went to the page it allowed me to add my poem anyway, and THEN the expiration date came up. So...Sharing my poem I wrote for it here today. I too, am having issues over at Word Press. Ever since I did a software update on my MAC, I have trouble commenting and liking if I am in Safari. Right now, I am in Chrome, which seems to be working okay. WP is aware and they are working on a fix. Happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Linda. I hope the issues with your blog get solved, too. We suspect our issues is software related as well. Right now, I am mighty jealous of the fact that WordPress has a "real" costumer service you can contact with these problems. When we contact Blogger, not even crickets chirp back (the price of free, lol).
DeleteThanks for hosting. I too can see access all the mentioned features.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the feedback, RedCat.
DeleteHope you and all have a great Sunday. Thank you for hosting and dealing with all the glitches that maintaining this page entails. I'll be coming back to read - best way to enjoy Sunday.
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome, Myrna. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, too.
DeleteHappy Sunday and Best Wishes for 2020 to all at the Pantry
ReplyDeleteMuch❤🌷❤love
Right back at you, Gillena.
DeleteNo problem accessing/reading everything .... Happy Sunday and thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteThank you for checking, Helen!
DeleteGood morning! Magaly, I can't see anything that says "reminder", but perhaps I am just missing it. Everything else is visible and functioning well. Thanks for looking after things! I'm off to shovel snow - I'll be back to read and comment a bit later. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi H. I meant the very short post reminding PU visitors that the latest feature or prompt at Poets and Storytellers United has gone live. I might not have used the clearest of phrasing *cough*.
DeleteI hope the shoveling was fun exercise!
Goodmorning...Same as Hennenburg - I can see all. Happy Sunday and all best for goodies in the The 2020 Pantry. ❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dr. Pearl.
DeleteA short poem... now going around to read.
ReplyDeleteGracias, Bjorn!
DeleteGood afternoon... looking forward to some creative treats.
ReplyDeleteZQ
Enjoy, ZQ.
DeleteHi Everyone--wow the site looks different--I too could see everything you mentioned. Happy reading!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for reporting back, Audrey. Have a fantastic Sunday.
DeleteAlthough the site changed I could navigate and find everything without a problem. I am sharing a poem I wrote a while back for one of my challenges at Real Toads
ReplyDeleteThank you for checking, Susie. And I love your poem. The imagery lingers...
DeleteHappy to share a piece I wrote during the holiday lull.:)
