Friday Writings #62: Pivot

Hello, Word Artists and Admirers! I don’t know about you, but the first couple of weeks of January seemed to drag forever—then sometime in the last week, the days started flying past. I think that was also the point where I felt more solidly into the new year (hopefully leaving the rocky start in the rearview mirror). What about you? Are you still wrapping up 2022 loose ends or are you fully into 2023?

For this week’s optional prompt, the word is “pivot”. You can use that word (or a variation of it) in your poetry or prose pieces. Remember, just one entry per person, and please keep your entries to 369 words or fewer.

Next week Rosemary will invite us to write a recipe (whether literally for an actual meal, or metaphorically for anything else at all).

  1. This piece to which I have linked, is about the ravaging cruel beast of time and disease. We learned this week that my wife must now battle the beast of cancer. She has had to make a most vital, and immediate pivot in her life now. She will not battle nor pivot alone — we will battle the ugly, heartless bastard united.

    1. Oh Rob, what a very nasty shock! However, I have known many people to battle this one successfully. Sending you both all the greatest good wishes for the journey ahead.

    2. I am so sorry to hear about your wife. Science has advanced so much though, so I am hoping for a definitive victory with her battle. My thoughts are with you both.
